Ang, ang mga, si, and sina, are the most commonly used articles (pantukoy) in the Filipino language.
May dalawang uri ng pantukoy (there are two kinds of articles in Filipino):
Si and sina are called pantukoy na pantangi because they are used before the proper names of people (pangngalang pantangi ng mga tao). Si is used to refer to one person; sina is for two or more persons.
Ang and ang mga are called pantukoy na pambalana. They are used before common nouns (pangngalang pambalana) as well as for proper nouns that do not refer to people. Ang is used for singular nouns while ang mga is used for plural nouns.
