Panghupot nga Pulingalan (Possessive Pronouns): MTB Sinugboanong Bisaya Quiz & Worksheet

Learn the different Sinugboanong Bisaya panghupot nga pulingalan (Cebuano possessive pronouns) and test what you learn with our online quiz and free worksheets.

“Panghupot” means possessive while “pulingalan” (also often shorted to “pulingan”) is the Sinugboanong Bisaya term for pronouns (“puli” means “take the place of” and “ngalan” means name).

Thus, panghupot nga pulingalan simply refers to possessive pronouns. They can also be referred to as pulingalang panghupot, panghupot nga pulingan, or pulingalan sa pag-angkon ug mga butang (literally, pronoun for claiming ownership of things).

The appropriate panghupot nga pulingalan will vary for singular and plural, and first person, second person, and third person. Just like with personal pronouns (pulingalan), there’s a separate pronoun for plural first person inclusive and plural first person exclusive. There are also variations for the possessive pronouns depending on if you want to put it before or after the noun (the thing owned).

It all sounds terribly complicated but take heart! Cebuano possessive pronouns are actually quite simple. Just refer to the table below.
