The verses in 1 Corinthians 13 about love is one of the most well-known and most beautiful Bible passages. As a lector, it was one of my favorite readings to do in church, and I found the Bisaya version just as lovely as the English.
From a Sinugboanong Binisaya learning perspective, this passage is also the perfect way to:
get introduced to mga pungway (adjectives) because of the many words it uses to describe what love is and isn’t, and
practice reading Bisaya, because of its gentle cadence.
Sinugboanong Binisaya (Cebuano) Vocabulary: Bahin sa Gugma (All About Love)
This excerpt of 1 Corinthians 13 is taken from the Maayong Balita Biblia (Good News Bible) Cebuano Popular Version.

Love: English Version
This English excerpt of 1 Corinthians 13 is from the New American Bible, which can be found in its entirety in the Vatican website.
If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
