Mga salitang pareho ang baybay ngunit iba ang bigkas at kahulugan refers to words that have the same spelling but are pronounced differently and have different meanings.
These words are sometimes referred to as homonyms but they are technically homographs, because many of them have different pronunciations and spellings. However, some of them are also homonyms (having the same spelling and pronunciation).

The ones that have asterisks after them have the same pronunciation.
It would be quite simple to tell the word’s meaning if it was written with the appropriate diin (accent mark — see tamang bigkas ng mga salita.) However, writing with the diin is not strictly necessarily in Filipino, so the best way to tell the meaning of the word would be to use context clues.
