Build Your Bisaya Vocabulary: Days of the Week and Months of the Year
Master the days of the week and months of the year in Sinugbuanong Binisaya (Cebuano) with this quick lesson, free worksheets and two-level quizzes.
These two Sinugboanong Binisaya (Cebuano) topics are pretty straightforward:
Mga adlaw sulod sa usa ka semana = days of the week
Mga bulan sulod sa usa ka tuig = months of the year
“Adlaw” means day, “semana” means week, “bulan” (or “buwan”) means month, and “tuig” means year.
“Usa” means one but the phrase “usa ka” is often used as an article. For example, when telling a story, you might say:
Once upon a time, there was a child named Mateo. Sa unang panahon, aduna’y usa ka bata nga ginganlan ug Mateo.
“Sulod” means inside or within, but in this case, its presence or absence does not really impact the meaning of the phrase and so it can be left off the English translation.
