There are many kinds of pang-abay (adverbs) but there are three primary ones:
Ang pang-abay na pamaraan ay naglalarawan kung paano naganap, nagaganap, o magaganap ang kilos na ipinahahayag ng pandiwa. (Adverbs of manner describe how an action is done.)
Ang pang-abay na pamanahon ay nagsasabi kung kailan naganap, ginaganap o gaganapin ang isang pangyayari o kilos. (Adverbs of time describe when, how often, or for how long, an action takes place.)
Ang pang-abay na panlunan ay nagsasaad sa lugar kung saan ginawa, ginagawa, o gagawin ang kilos. (Adverbs of place describe where an action happens.)
